Gators fall twice at NJCU in tri-match with Yeshiva

 

Jersey City, NJ----The Sage Colleges men's volleyball team travelled to New Jersey City University on Sunday for a tri-match with the host Gothic Knights of New Jersey City University and the Maccabees of Yeshiva University.

Sage faced Yeshiva University in their first contest of the day, a Skyline Conference match. Yeshiva tallied a 3-1 won to close the Gators' conference season with a 3-7 mark. NJCU was a 3-0 victor in the final match and improves to 10-6 on the year. Sage stands at 5-17 overall on the year.

Sage vs. Yeshiva (Yeshiva 3-1: 30-22, 28-30, 30-25, 30-25)

Sage's rookie Anthony Gerace (East Greenbush, NY/Columbia) added 46 setting assists for the Gators in the match with 10 digs, and four kills with one block.  Rookie middle hitter Jed Kubisch (Delmar, NY/Bethlehem) added 19 kills with 13 digs for a double-double in the Skyline Conference match, while adding two service aces as well. Freshman Kyle Ray (Horseheads, NY/Horseheads) racked up 18 kills with 21 digs and five serving aces. seven kills with 16 digs. Rookie middle hitter Jed Kubisch (Delmar, NY/Bethlehem) added 12 kills with 12 digs for a double-double in the Skyline Conference match with the Panthers of Purchase College.

Sage vs. New Jersey City University (NJCU 3-0, 30-19, 30-16, 30-24)

In the nightcap, Sage dropped a 3-0 decision to the Gothic Knights of New Jersey City University in a NECVA match.  Gerace added 24 setting assists with a pair of digs. Ray added 10 kills with serving aces and two digs. Kubisch added nine kills with six digs.
