Sage men's volleyball team downs Purchase College, 3-0.
The Gators earned the program's first Skyline Conference win on Thursday.
Albany, NY----The Sage Colleges men's volleyball team hosted Purchase College on Thursday night in the Kahl Campus Center in a Skyline Conference match. The Gators defeated Purchase 3-0 for the program's first Skyline Conference win. Sage improves to 2-5 overall and 1-1 in the league, while Purchase drops to 0-3 overall and 0-2 in the Skyline Conference.

Rookie Anthony Gerace (East Greenbush, NY/Columbia) added 21 setting assists for the Gators in the match with six digs and a pair of blocks. Sage's freshman Kyle Ray (Horseheads, NY/Horseheads) had seven kills with six digs and two blocks, while freshman middle hitter Jed Kubisch (Delmar, NY/Bethlehem) had 11 kills with eight digs.
Purchase was led by senior Daniel Grabowski-Clark (Farmington, CT/Farmington) as he had 13 kills with two aces and eight digs. He added three solo blocks with a block assist. Senior Kyle Zehr (Beaver Falls, NY/Beaver River Central) added 16 kills with three digs and a solo block. Freshman outside hitter Peter Witkowski (St. James, NY/Smithtown) added seven kills with seven digs and a solo block.
The Gators will return to action on Sunday, February 7 travelling to the College of Mounts St. Vincent for a 3:30 p.m. Skyline match, while Purchase College hosts Bard in a conference match on February 10 at 7 p.m.
