Annandale-on-Hudson, NY--- The Sage Colleges' women's basketball team travelled to Bard College on Saturday afternoon for a non-conference game with the Raptors. The Gators posted the impressive 59-34 win to extend its win streak to three game and finish the week with a 3-0 mark. Overall on the season, Sage is now 4-5, while Bard drops to 1-7.
Sage held a 31-14 edge at the break and finished the afternoon with a very balanced output as 12 different players scored in the game. Leading the way for the Gators was junior Kara Hackett (Peru, NY/Peru Central) as she had nine points. The trio of sophomore Chelsea Martin (Davenport, NY/Jefferson Central), rookie Amie Jefferson (Albany, NY/Colonie Central), and senior Sarah Carciobolo (Niskayuna, NY/South Colonie) all finished with eight points, while Jefferson led the team on the boards with seven rebounds.
The Gators held an edge on the boards as well, 40-31 and forced 31 turnovers. Bard's Liz Freud finished with a double-double as she had 13 points and 10 rebounds.
The Gators will off until January 4 when they will visit nearby Union College for a non-conference game.
