Rochester, NY- Sage's women's basketball senior forward Genevieve Schoff (Little Falls, NY/Little Falls) was named the Empire 8 Women's Basketball Player of the Week after impressive week. She averaged 24.3 points per game and 10.3 rebounds for the week after adding 73 points and 31 rebounds.
The team's leading scorer, she has tallied 283 points thus far in 18 starts with a 15.7 ppg average and also leads the Gators with her 161 rebounds and 8.9 rpg average. She has a team-best 25 blocks as well, while adding 31.6 minutes per game as well.
She shot an impressive 53.3% from the floor last week while also adding 11 blocks. Schoff opened the week with a career-best 36 points in the team's 82-70 win over Stevens. She also tied the Sage single-game record after adding 18 of her 36 points from the free throw line. She added double-digit scoring in all three games last week with a pair of double-doubles. The 18 free throws is also an Empire 8 women's basketball single-game record.
On her career, she has netted 68 games with double digit scoring, while adding 28 career double-doubles. A 2018 CoSIDA Academic All-America nominee, Schoff surpassed the 1,300 career point plateau in the final games of the week. She stands second all-time at Sage in career scoring with 1,314 points. She is also No. 2 in rebounding with 824 boards, while now having played in 100 career games. She is third in games played and is just nine games away from breaking the all-time mark currently held by Frankie Pearson (108, 2013-2017). She is also second in career blocks with 121.
Sage, which is 12-6 overall and 6-3 in the league returns to action on Tuesday, January 30 at Hartwick College for an 8 p.m. Empire 8 match-up.
