Frament and Martin key Gator win over Bard, 42-33
Annandale on Hudson, NY---The Sage Colleges women's basketball team travelled to Bard College for a Skyline Conference match on Saturday afternoon. Sage tallied the 42-33 win to improve to 5-9 overall and 4-5 in the league. Bard drops to 2-11 overall and 1-7 in the conference.
Sage overcame a 19-15 halftime deficit to tally the win, which snapped their five-game losing streak. Rookie forward Chelsea Martin (Davenport, NY/Jefferson Central) tallied a game-high 12 points to lead the Gators as she had seven second-half points and paced Sage as she also racked up four steals. Junior forward Kelsey Frament (Waterford, NY/Catholic Central) added seven points and a team-high nine rebounds with three steals.
Sage sophomore Carly Vallee (East Greenbush, NY/Catholic Central) added another three-point basket, giving her 38 career three-point basket as she stands in 10th place on Sage's career record book.
Sage returns to action on January 18 hosting Purchase College in a 6 p.m. Skyline Conference game which will take place in the Neff Center (Troy, NY).
