Gators racks up third straight win as they down Yeshiva in convincing fashion
Sage's women's basketball squad racks up key Skyline Conference win to improve to 3-2 in the league.
New York, NY---The Sage Colleges women's basketball team travelled to Yeshiva University for a Skyline Conference game that was held at Hunter College. The Gators racked up their third straight win as they beat Yeshiva, 63-42. Sage improves to 4-4 overall and 3-2 in the Skyline Conference, while Yeshiva drops to 1-8 overall and 0-6 in the league.
Sage led 35-22 at the break and never looked back in the game as senior forward Jessica Byerwalters (Coeymans Hollow, NY/Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk) 14 points to lead the team and had her second straight 14 point performance this week.
Sophomore forward Kara Hackett (Peru, NY/Peru Central) paced the team with 11 points and six rebounds. Rookie forward Chelsea Martin (Davenport, NY/Jefferson Central) connected for seven points with eight rebounds. Sophomore Kelsey Frament (Waterford, NY/Catholic Central) chipped in for a season-high nine points and seven rebounds off the bench for the Gators.
As a team, Sage had 17 assists with 15 steals and shot 42.6% from the floor for the convincing victory giving the team a winning mark in league play to end the 2010 half of the season.
