Men's Soccer team stands atop Skyline Conference race after another 6-0 win
West Harrison, NY---The Sage Colleges men's soccer team faced Yeshiva University on Sunday afternoon in a Skyline Conference match. Sage tallied six goals for the second time in as many days, tying the program's mark for most goals in a contest. With their third straight win, the Sage men's soccer team has taken over first place in the Skyline Conference with their 16 points. The Gators are now 6-5-1 overall with a 5-1-1 record in league action. Yeshiva falls to 0-4-1 overall and 0-2-1 in the conference.
Sage led 2-0 at the break. Freshman Chris Giustina (Enfield, CT/Enrico Fermi) added two goals and an assist to pace the team on the afternoon. Giustina now has five goals with three assists for 13 points to lead the Gators.
Freshman midfielder Scott Jarosz (Brunswick, ME/Brunswick) also chipped in for a pair of goals on the day to elevate his season total to four goals and eight points.
Sage's rookie goalies Carmen Volpe (Cohoes, NY/CBA) and Caleb Johnson (New Lebanon, NY/New Lebanon) each shared in the action to rack up the team's fourth shutout of the season.
