Playoff-Bound Gators Wrap Up Regular Season at SUNY Geneseo

Junior setter Cassidy Weiher (Aurora, CO/Cherokee Trail/Southern Maine) registered a triple double of 13 kills on .242 hitting, 12 assists, and ten digs in the Empire 8 Conference matinee. She aced a pair of serves and blocked four Knights attacks.
Senior outside hitter Ashleigh Gerkman (Valatie, NY/Ichabod Crane) contributed nine kills and 13 digs, while freshman outside hitter Paige Kemmer (Voorheesville, NY/Clayton A. Bouton) tallied 11 kills.
Senior setter Mia Wood (Scotia, NY/Scotia-Glenville) distributed 24 assists and served up three aces, with freshman libero Emma Curry (Goodyear, AZ/Estrella Foothills), announced as the Conference's Rookie of the Week on Monday, recording 25 digs, two assists and an ace.
SUNY Geneseo (14-11/7-4 E8), which secured hosting privileges for an E8 Championship Tournament Quarterfinal with the home win, received 19 kills on .417 hitting from freshman outside hitter Sophie Hunter. Sophomore outside hitter Kathryn Barba tossed in 16 kills and 15 digs for the victors.
Based upon today's results around the Conference, RSC will be the six seed in the E8 Playoffs. The Gators will visit SUNY Brockport for an E8 Championship Tournament Quarterfinal on Saturday, November 8. First serve is slated for 1:00 PM.
Gator Bites with Papa John's: With the 3-2 win at Elmira on October 24, RSC clinched a return trip to the Empire 8 Conference Championship Tournament for the second-straight fall…The Gators qualified for the E8 playoffs for the first time in program history in 2024…Seven players return this season, including: senior opposite Aniyah Kelley (Newcastle, DE/William Penn) and…Head Coach Rosilyn Cummings, now in her third season at the helm of the Gators, added nine newcomers to this year's squad…Gerkman was selected the Empire 8 Conference Player of the Week for the period ending Sunday, August 31…Curry was tabbed the E8 Rookie of the Week for the period ending Sunday, October 26...She opened the weekend ranked second in the Conference in digs and digs per-set, and third in both aces and aces per-set…Kelley commenced the week fourth in the E8 with a .268 hitting percentage...Weiher totaled 20 kills on .271 hitting, 18 assists, 14 digs, four total blocks, and two aces this weekend against SUNY Brockport and SUNY Geneseo...Kemmer tallied 17 kills across the seven sets of road E8 action.
