The visiting Thoroughbreds had five different players tally seven or more kills to pick up a 3-1 (25-16, 25-21, 22-25, 25-18) non-conference win.
Senior opposite Aniyah Kelley (Newcastle, DE/William Penn) paced the Gators with 17 kills on .531 hitting and three total blocks.
Freshman middle hitter Emily Trama (Colonie, NY/Colonie Central) added a career-high seven kills on .250 hitting, while freshman middle hitter Julia Morales (Burnt Hills, NY/Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake) blocked six Skidmore attacks.
Freshman libero Emma Curry (Goodyear, AZ/Estrella Foothills) topped all participants with 21 digs and aced three serves.
Sophomore outside hitter Natalie Pederson led the Thoroughbreds (10-9) with 12 kills.
RSC (9-11), on the hunt for an Empire 8 Conference Championship Tournament berth, will be on the road for its final four matches of the regular season. The Gators play next at Elmira on Friday evening.
Gator Bites with Papa John's: RSC made its first appearance in the Empire 8 Conference Championship Tournament last fall…Seven players return this season, including: Kelley and senior outside hitter Ashleigh Gerkman (Valatie, NY/Ichabod Crane)…Head Coach Rosilyn Cummings, now in her third season at the helm of the Gators, added nine newcomers to this year's squad…Gerkman was selected the Empire 8 Conference Player of the Week for the period ending Sunday, August 31.
