Sage women's soccer now 3-0 after 3-1 win at Bard

Castleton-on-Hudson, NY – Second half goals by Ariannah Logan (Canajoharie, NY/Canjoharie) and Angela Gonzalez (Hoosick Falls, NY/Hoosick Falls Central) led the Sage Colleges to a 3-1 win over Bard College in a non-league women's soccer game at Ferrari Field Wednesday night. The Gators improved to 3-0 on the young season while the Raptors fell to 1-1.

Senior midfielder Dominic Puglisi (Schenectady, NY/Scotia Glenville) put the Gators on the board first. After a Bard clear attempt, Sage got control and Puglisi's shot to the low left side gave Sage a 1-0 lead. It was the first tally of the season for Puglisi, coming at 4:22. The Raptors tied it a 1-1 at 7:13. Hattie Wilder Karlstrom notched her second of the fall as her free kick from 25 yards out made it inside the far post. Each team had six shots in the first half.

Senior midfielder/forward Ariannah Logan (Canajoharie, NY/Canjoharie) scored the eventual game winner for Sage at 68:44. She took a feed from sophomore defender Emily Davenport (Schenectady, NY/Colonie Central), a cross from the left side, and Logan headed in her first of the year. Freshman midfielder Angela Gonzalez (Hoosick Falls, NY/Hoosick Falls Central) scored her first career goal, an empty netter past the keeper, for a 3-1 lead at 78:08.

The Gators had an 8-2 advantage in corners. Freshman Mickaela Buzzy (Oneonta, NY/Oneonta) made three saves and the guests finished with a 13-11 shot advantage.
