Clermont, FL— Sage's softball team was in action on Tuesday in Florida. The Gators fell in the first game to Wisconsin-Lutheran College, 13-5, but rebounded in the second game besting Washington & Jefferson College, 12-5. The Gators are now 2-6 on the season.

Sage will be back in action on Thursday, March 14 for their final pair of games on the spring training trip. Sage will take on Beloit College at 10 a.m. and the College of Mt. St. Vincent at 12:15 p.m.

Against Wisconsin-Lutheran, Sage combined for 8 hits and had a big third inning pushing four runs across the plate but it was not enough as they allowed five runs in the top of the sixth to seal the win.

Sophomore pitcher Katerina Lagace (Newington, CT/Newington) added a 2-2 effort at the plate with an RBI at the plate, but took the loss after allowing 5 earned runs off 8 hits in 3 innings of work. She drops to 0-3 on the year. Rookie pitcher Taylor Dicranian (Bennington, VT/Mt. Anthony Union) worked in relief allowing no earned runs in 3.0 innings of work with 7 hits allowed.

At the plate, senior outfielder Lindsey Decker (Ballston Lake, NY/Shenendehowa) was 2-3 with a run scored, while senior infielder Kiersten Duncan (Millerton, NY/Taconic Hills) picked up a 1-4 effort at the plate with an RBI and another double, elevating her season total to 7 doubles.

Offensive support came from a number of Gators as they combined for 13 hits with a pair of doubles.  Duncan was 2/4 at the plate with 2 runs scored, 3 RBI's and a team-leading 8th double of the season. She has vaulted to the No. 3 spot on the Gator career double list ahead of Katy Rimawi as she now has 41 doubles.
