Sage Brings Back Women's Lacrosse
Reading, PA - After almost 20 years The Sage Colleges has a women's lacrosse team competing in the NCAA Division III as well as the Skyline Conference. The Gators kicked off their inaugural season in Reading, PA over spring break with two games against Wilkes University and Alvernia University, respectively.
Reading, PA - After almost 20 years The Sage Colleges has a women's lacrosse team competing in the NCAA Division III as well as the Skyline Conference. The Gators kicked off their inaugural season in Reading, PA over spring break with two games against Wilkes University and Alvernia University, respectively.
Brianna Thompson (Mason, OH) scored the first goal for the Gators against Wilkes University. Sage fell to Wilkes 1-21, but head coach Andrea Hanley was optimistic and pleased with her teams showing in their first game of the season.
In their second game the Gators hit their stride offensively, finding the back of the net eight times against Alvernia University, but came up short as they lost 8-19. Thompson and Amber Winslow (Averil Park, NY) each scored three goals, while Kathryn Saulsbery (Albany, NY) and Christina Gray (Clifton Park, NY) tallied one goal a piece. Winslow added two assists, while Saulsbery and Karalin Weilacher (Ticonderoga, NY) each recorded an assist.
The Gators return to the field Saturday, March 22nd as they travel to Mount Saint Vincent for their first Skyline Conference match up.
