Gators drop heartbreaker to No. 15 ranked Kean in Skyline Semifinals
Union, NJ-- The Sage Colleges' men's volleyball team travelled to Kean University for the 2012 Skyline Conference Championships. The top seeded and No. 15 ranked Kean University Cougars advanced to the title match after collecting a 3-1 win (25-16, 25-18, 20-25, 25-17) over No. 4 seeded Sage in the semifinals. #2 Ramapo College topped NJCU 3-2 in the other semifinal contest setting the stage for a Kean-Ramapo championship match Saturday night.
Sage finishes the season with a 17-10 record, while they must await the announcement of the 2012 Eastern College Athletic Conference Tournament field for a chance at the team's first ECAC appearance.
For the Gators, sophomore Dylan Krowicki (Little Falls, NY/Little Falls) added 16 kills with 9 digs. Junior Spencer Hilland (Slingerlands, NY/Bethlehem Central) recorded 7 kills in the action with 12 digs.
Sophomore Scott Fitzgerald (Hudson Falls, NY/Queensbury) added 8 digs with 4 kills. Junior setter Kyle Ray (Horseheads, NY/Horseheads) handed out 25 setting assists with 8 digs. He continues to add to his active career record for most setting assists with 1,603.
