Albany, NY--- The Sage Colleges' men's volleyball team had their home Skyline Conference opener on Sunday afternoon in the Kahl Center. Sage hosted a Skyline Conference quad match featuring Yeshiva University, the College of Mt. St. Vincent and Purchase College. Sage went 2-0 on the afternoon with wins over the College of Mt. St. Vincent and Yeshiva, both 3-0. CMSV went 1-1 as they downed Purchase 3-1.

The young Gators improve to 2-1 overall and are a perfect 2-0 in Skyline Conference plays as interim head coach Jason Wood tallied his first career win on Sunday and picked up a second to stand in a tie atop the league standings with Kean University (2-0). The two teams will meet on January 31 at Sage in a 7 p.m. Skyline Conference contest in the Kahl Center.
For the Gators against the Dolphins of CMSV, junior co-captain Spencer Hilland (Slingerlands, NY/Bethlehem Central) added 15 kills with a dig and a pair of block assists. Sophomore outside hitter Dylan Krowicki (Little Falls, NY/Little Falls) with nine kills and six digs.
Sophomore right side Scott Fitzgerald (Hudson Falls, NY/Queensbury) had nine kills with three digs and three aces. Junior setter and co-captain Kyle Ray (Horseheads, NY/Horseheads) tallied 31 setting assists with five digs.
In the nightcap, Sage's squad was led by Hilland's 16 kills, four digs and three total blocks. Hilland leads the team on the 2012 campaign already having tallied 37 kills. Krowicki added 10 kills and five digs in the match, while Ray added 37 setting assists and now has 798 career setting assists. Ray and Fitzgerald each had two aces in the contest and sophomore Zachary Kuhn (Rensselaer, NY/Columbia) added eight digs.
