Gators' win streak snapped by Panthers
Old Westbury, NY--- The Sage Colleges men's team travelled to SUNY-Old Westbury on Saturday afternoon for a Skyline Conference contest with the Panthers. Old Westbury racked up the 100-75 victory to improve to 3-8 overall and 2-4 in the league, snapping Sage's three-game win streak. The Gators fall to 5-7 overall and 3-5 in the Skyline Conference.
The Gators held a 43-42 edge at the break, but the Panthers exploded for 58 second half points and held on the for the win as Jamal Little tallied a game-high 30 points. Little had 19 points in the second stanza to lead his team to the win.
Sage's senior Derick Faragon (Rotterdam Junction, NY/Schenectady) led the team with his career-high 24 points, surpassing his previous high of 22 points, which he has had twice this season. Both sophomore forward Matt Farbotko (Rouses Point, NY/Northeastern Clinton) and sophomore center Ryan Sager (Stuyvesant, NY/Ichabod Crane) connected for a 14 points a piece, while Sage led the team with his 10 rebounds.
Sage returns to action on January 12 hosting Mt. St. Marty College in the Kahl Center in a Skyline Conference game commencing at 7 p.m.
