Gators take battle of New Scotland Avenue with 93-71 win
Sage defeated Albany Pharmacy on Monday night for the team's second straight win.
Albany, NY---The Sage Colleges men's basketball team traveled down the street to face the Panthers of Albany College of Pharmacy on Monday night. The Gators tallied the 93-71 win to improve to 2-2 overall, while ACP drops to 2-2. Sage led 45-33 at the half and for the second time in a week scored over 90 points en route to a win.
For Sage, senior forward Derick Faragon (Rotterdam Junction, NY/Schenectady) led the way with a game-high 19 points with 13 rebounds. He made 5-of-9 from three point range and was part of the Sage lineup that featured six players finishing in double-digit in the contest and forced 24 turnovers on the night.
Sophomore Marcus Hunter (Ridge, NY/Longwood) finished with 15 points, while senior forward Lamont Garland (Albany, NY/Colonie) connected for 13 points in the contest. Junior Dan Schulz (Amsterdam, NY/Broadalbin-Perth) had a season-high 12 points and shot an impressive 5-7 from the floor. Sage got 11 points from senior guard Garret Bishop (Saratoga Springs, NY/Saratoga) and junior guard Pat Lanoue (Troy, NY/Hoosic Valley Central).
ACP was led by senior guard Ben Sheppard (Clifton Springs, NY/Midlakes) as he added 19 points, while senior center Zach Bratek (Dewitt, NY/Jamesville-Dewitt) had a double-double on 18 points with 10 rebounds and six blocked shots.
