Kean tallies key Skyline victory over Sage, 20-3
Albany, NY--- The Sage College women’s lacrosse team hosted Kean University on Saturday afternoon in a Skyline Conference contest at Albany Academy. Kean would post the 20-3 win to improve to 6-7 overall and 4-2 in the league, while the Gators drops to 1-10 overall and 1-5 in the conference.
Kean’s freshman midfielder Lyndsey Cannon (Delran, NJ/Delran) led all scorers with her four goals and two assists. The Cougars’ leading scorer, Cannon now has 45 goals with 16 assists to lead the squad with her 61 points. Junior Amanda South (Fairless Hills, PA/Conwell Egan Catholic) added three goals with three assists to elevate her season totals to 33 goals with seven assists. Junior Erica Kelly (West Deptford, NJ/West Deptford) added three goals with two assists for the Cougars as they led 12-1 at the break.
Sage’s sophomore midfielder Ginelle Butler (Malta, NY/Ballston Spa) added a team-high two goals with an assist elevating her team-leading totals to nine goals with four assists.
Kean’s freshman keeper Jules Keeley (Ocean Township, NJ/Ocean Township) picked up the win to improve to 5-2 in goal after she recorded six saves in the game, while Sage’s rookie keeper Courtney Reed (Mechanicville, NY/Mechanicville) added 14 saves in the contest.
