Gators drop Skyline opener to Farmingdale Rams
Farmingdale, NY----The Sage Colleges' women's lacrosse team opened their 2010 Skyline Conference action on Saturday at the league's defending champions, Farmingdale State College. The Rams tallied the 21-0 win to improve to 1-1 overall and 1-0 in the league, while Sage drops to 0-3 overall and 0-1 in the league.
Farmingdale's freshman Emily Williams (Centerport, NY/Harborfields) added three goals while junior Justine Rothar (Levittown, NY/Division Avenue), the 2009 Skyline Conference Women's Lacrosse Player of the Year, added two goals and four assists.
Sage's freshman goalie Courtney Reed (Mechanicville, NY/Mechanicville) recorded nine saves in the contest, while senior keeper Courtney Caden (Setauket, NY/Ward Melville) posted the shutout.
Sage returns to action on Saturday, March 27 when they face Rhode Island College in a 1 p.m. conference match.
