Hackett's double-double lifts Sage to key win.

Bronx, NY--- The Sage Colleges women's basketball team traveled to New York City and faced Skyline Conference rival Yeshiva University on Sunday. The contest was held on the campus of Baruch College and saw the Gators rack up a key conference victory as they rolled to an 87-51 win over the Maccabees. Sage is now 9-12 overall and 7-8 in the league, while Yeshiva drops to 2-18 overall and 0-15 in the league.

Sage's rookie forward Kara Hackett (Peru, NY/Peru Central) led the team to the conference win after tallying a double-double on 26 points with 10 rebounds and six steals.

Sage led 37-24 at the break and got additional scoring output in the contest from senior guard Carlin DeMarinis (Saratoga Springs, NY/Saratoga Springs) as she racked up 15 points and was 3-6 from three-point range.  Junior Jessica Byerwalters (Coeymans Hollow, NY/Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk) added a 12 points with four rebounds, while rookie guard Carly Vallee (East Greenbush, NY/Catholic Central) added 10 points off the bench.

Sage returns to action on Tuesday, February 9 when they host the College of Mount Saint Vincent in a Skyline Conference game in the Neff Athletic Center at 6 p.m. Sage will hold their WBCA Pink Zone game and is encouraging all fans to wear pink to the game.
