Gators Win and Clinch on 'Senior Night'
Russell Sage College Women’s Basketball picked up a 50-41 win over Keuka as they celebrated 'Senior Day.'
ALBANY, N.Y. – Russell Sage College Women's Basketball picked up a 50-41 win over Keuka as they celebrated 'Senior Day.'
The Gators (14-8/9-4 E8) led for the whole 40 minutes during the Saturday afternoon matinee, cementing themselves with a spot in the Empire 8 Conference Championship Tournament with the victory.
RSC was led by senior forward Aniyah Kelley (New Castle, DE/William Penn), who contributed eleven points and six rebounds. Sophomore guard Jaileen Soto (Phillipsburg, NJ/Phillipsburg) scored ten points and brought down five rebounds, while senior forward Emily Zeh (Oneonta, NY/Oneonta) added nine points.
Russell Sage shot an impressive 19-of-24 from the charity stripe in the nine point win.
Keuka (9-12/4-9 E8) was led by an eleven point performance from Emiley Anderson and ten points from Brooke Burd.
"I really liked the way we came together as a team and defended today," Shared Branche. "We got contributions from everyone and it was a perfect way to honor our seniors."
The Gators are back in action next weekend with a Friday night matchup at Alfred.
