The Gators, which led the defending Empire 8 Conference regular season champs 34-32 at the break, were able to get their deficit to three on four occasions during the final 3:07.
Senior guard Layla Acosta (Haines City, FL/Haines City) led all players with 35 points in the road setback. She knocked down six three-pointers, dished out six assists, and secured five rebounds. The output was tied for the third-most points in a game by an RSC player. Emily Parslow '19 scored 35 points vs. Nazareth on January 12, 2019.
Acosta, who closed the night ranked third in the Conference in scoring average, passed Mary Leary '83 for fourth place on the program's career scoring list this evening. Parslow is third with 1,370 career points
Junior forward Kallie Hopkins (Millsboro, DE/Poly Tech), among the Conference's rebounding leaders, registered a double-double of 12 points on 50.0 percent shooting and 13 rebounds.
SUNY Brockport (12-6/8-1 E8) had a trio of players score in double figures to run its winning streak to six.
RSC (12-7/7-3 E8) finishes up its weekend back-to-back tomorrow at SUNY Geneseo.
