RSC Improves to 2-0 in E8 Play

Senior Layla Acosta (Haines City, FL/Haines City) led all participants with 29 points on 13-of-28 shooting. The guard, who tallied five assists and three steals, moved into fifth place on the program's career scoring list in the road victory. Acosta, now with 1,086 career points, passed Frankie Pearson '17 (1,081) and Megan Bowman '15 (1,080) to help the Gators improve to 2-0 in E8 play.

“Tonight was a tough road test," commented Head Coach Michael Branche. "I am happy with how the team battled through a very physical game and handled the adversity throughout. We received great contributions from a lot of different people. I am looking forward to continuing to build on tonight.”
RSC (7-4/2-0 E8) started slow against Keuka. The Wolves (5-5/0-2 E8) led 9-0 3:43 in and 14-11 after the opening quarter. The Gators turned the tide in the second period, using an 18-9 frame to hold a 29-23 advantage at the intermission. RSC increased its lead to as many as 16 in the second half.
Senior guard Mary Cotter topped the Wolves with 15 points on 6-of-14 shooting. Junior center Brooke Burd contributed a double-double of 10 points on 4-of-8 shooting and 13 boards.
RSC plays at Elmira tomorrow at 2:00 PM.
