New York, NY--- With the release of the Skyline Conference’s weekly award winners, The Sage Colleges’ softball team swept the weekly honors after another impressive week’s efforts. Sage stands at 14-4 overall and a perfect 4-0 in the Skyline Conference to lead the league. The Gators are riding a school-record 11 game win streak as well heading into this week’s action.
For Sage’s softball team, which went 6-0 last week, the Gators produced the Co-Player of the Week in rookie infielder Kristen Beikirch (Brockport, NY/Brockport), the Pitcher of the Week in junior pitcher Kelsey Newberg (New Britain, CT/New Britain), and the Rookie of the Week in Karlie Williams (Schenectady, NY/Mohonasen).
Beikirch repeats as the Player of the Week after earning the same honor last week. Last week, she led Gators to a 6-0 week, as she continued her torrid start. She also scored 9 runs, had 4 steals, a 1.000 slugging pct. and is now batting .544 on the season with a team-high 31 hits. This honors is the third for the Gator rookie who was also named the league’s Rookie of the Week on March 12.

She added 19 K’s and only 4 walks, with 2 shutouts, including a shared shutout. She held the opposition to a 0.125 batting average last week. In addition to her efforts as a starting pitcher, she also batted .571 on the week with 12 hits, 3 doubles, 5 RBI’s, and 10 runs scored.
