RSC Uses Big Second Half to Win at Alfred

The Gators (19-4/11-3 E8), battling for the E8 regular season title, outscored the host Saxons 62-33 and shot 60.0 percent from the field during the final 20 minutes. The outburst by RSC, the top offense in the Conference, included a 31-0 run across 6:32. The stretch allowed the Gators to turn a 20-point deficit into a comfortable road triumph.
Five Gators scored in double figures in the win.
Senior guard Brandon Harris (Elmsford, NY/Alexander Hamilton/Herkimer CC) led all players with 25 points on 8-of-21 shooting. The Conference leader in steals and steals per-game, who netted 21 of his points after the break, registered three assists, three rebounds, and two steals.
Senior forward Jeremy Rosario (Albany, NY/Colonie Central/Alma) added 21 points, a season-high, on 10-of-17 shooting, while junior center Khalel Noteman (Brooklyn, NY/Canarsie), among the E8 leaders in rebounding and field goal percentage, registered 16 points on 6-of-7 shooting, four rebounds, and three blocks. Tonight marked the third-straight game that Rosario scored in twin figures.
Junior Adam Myers (Troy, NY/LaSalle Institute/Saint Rose) contributed greatly off the bench, scoring 16 points on 4-of-6 shooting. The point guard dished out seven assists, grabbed four rebounds, and came up with three steals, while just committing one turnover.
Junior guard Tyler Curran topped Alfred (3-20/0-14 E8), now on a 14-game slide, with 21 points.
The Saxons used a 33-10 first half run to go into the locker room ahead 47-33. Alfred netted the first eight points of the second half to stretch its advantage to 20. From there, RSC responded with a 31-0 run across 6:32 to take control.
The Gators, which led by as many as 14, go for win number 20 tomorrow afternoon at Houghton.
