Gator harriers finish as runners-up at Valiant Invitational
Purchase, NY– The Sage Colleges' women's cross country squad picked up the runner-up team trophy on Saturday in just the second race in the program's history. Sage competed at the Manhattanville College Valiant Invitational and finished in second place just behind Roberts Wesleyan University, which won the team competition with a score of 20. Sage finished in second place in the 5 K race with a score of 59.

Winning the women's individual title was Purchase College's Katherine Henri in 19:28. Leading the way for Sage with a strong Top 10 finish was rookie Alaina Krueger (Selkirk, NY/Ravena Coeymans Selkirk) in a time of 21:31 to take 8th place.
Right behind her in 9th place was senior Katie Fargnoli (West Islip, NY/West Islip) in 21:37. Freshman Kiera Warner (Chestertown, MA/North Warren) as she finished in 10th place in 21:40. Next in 17th place was freshman Megan Lugo (West Nyack, NY/Clarkstown South) picked up 17th place in 23:46.
Freshman Leanne Egan (Schenectady, NY/Mohonasen) took home 28th in 26:24, while junior Chelsea Weber (Wyantskill, NY/Tamarac) finished in 26:55 and picked up 30th place. Senior Alexandra Farina (Schenectady, NY/Mohonasen) added a 41st place showing in 28:19.
Sage returns to action on September 22 competing at the Elms College Trailblazer Invitational.
