Sage women harriers take home 24th at first ECAC's

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. – The 2012 Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division III Cross Country Championships were held on Saturday, November 3, at Mount Greylock Regional High School in Williamstown, Massachusetts. In front of a large crowd on a windy and cool morning, over 100 institutions and 800 student-athletes from colleges all over the Northeast came to Saturday's event, hosted by Williams College and the ECAC.
Middlebury College won the Women's Championship with a final team score of 31. Drew University senior Jennifer Van Wingerden took first in women's championship with a time of 22:54.
Sage College's women's cross country team picked up 24th place in the squad's first appearance at the ECAC Championships.
Leading the way for Sage was rookie Alaina Krueger (Selkirk, NY/Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk) as she finished in 97th place in a time of 25:51.67. Senior captain Katie Fargnoli (West Islip, NY/West Islip) took home 127th place in 26:24.56.
Sage freshman Kiera Warner (Chestertown, NY/North Warren) picked up 140th place in 26:47.22, while rookie Amanda Millington (Chestertown, NY/North Warren) finished in 153rd place in 27:05.34. Sophomore Caitlin Coughlin (Palenville, NY/Catskill) picked up 182nd in 28:29.77.
Also running for Sage was rookie Megan Lugo (West Nyack, NY/Clarkstown South) as she finished in 215th place in 29:57.06. Rookie Leanne Egan (Schenectady, NY/Mohonasen) picked up 222nd place in 30:34.02.
Next up for Sage is the 2012 Skyline Conference Championships on November 7 at Chadwick Lake Park, Newburgh, NY.
