North Adams, MA—The Sage Colleges' women's volleyball team travelled to Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts for a non-conference match with the Trailblazers on Tuesday night. MCLA posted a 3-0 win, beating Sage 27-25, 25-16, 25-23 to move to 12-6 on the year. Sage drops to 4-17 this fall.
For the Gators sophomore tri-captain Emma Parkington (Dalton, MA/Wahconah Regional) racked up nine kills with 13 digs and added five block assists. Senior outside hitter Megan Ryder (Broadalbin, NY/Broadalbin Perth) connected for 19 digs with 7 kills and was 15-1 in receiving attempts for a .938 receiving percentage.
Senior Desiree Suits (Nelliston, NY/Fort Plain) had seven digs with just one receiving error in 19 attempts for a .950 receiving percentage. Junior right side Renee Martin (Troy, NY/Troy) compiled five kills with 4 block assists and added one dig for the Gators.
Sage is back in action on October 11 travelling to Elmira College for a 6 p.m. Empire 8 match.
