Diebold Voted Second-Team All-E8
ALBANY, N.Y. – Russell Sage College Men's Soccer sophomore Logan Diebold (Williamsville, NY/Williamsville South) repeated as an All-Empire 8 Conference honoree. Results of the voting, conducted by the league's head coaches, were announced by the Conference office earlier today.
After making the third-team as a rookie, the defender garnered second-team accolades.
The sophomore anchored the Gator backline, helping RSC reach the Quarterfinals of the Conference Championship Tournament for the second consecutive autumn. His efforts helped the Gators head into the postseason ranked second in the E8 with a 1.12 goals-against average.
Diebold was selected the E8 Defensive Player of the Week for the period ending Sunday, September 14. He factored into both RSC goals of 2-1 E8 win vs. SUNY Brockport on September 13.
"I am really proud of Logan for his all-conference selection," commented Head Coach Amir Pasic. "He earns an honor everyday with his relentless effort in training and games. Logan is one of our best players and also one of our hardest workers. He is consistent and you know what you will get from him every day."
One member of each team was named that institution's representative on the 2025 E8 Men's Soccer Tomorrow's Leaders Team. This team honors a student-athlete who has emerged as a leader not only on the field of play, but in the classroom and in the community. In addition, they "compete with honor and integrity" and have distinguished themselves and consistently exhibit the critical traits as outstanding sportsmen. Forward Zakaria Toure (New York, NY/International/Eastern Nazarene), a graduate student, represented the Gators on the squad.
"Zakaria has earned this recognition through his buy in, hard work, and discipline during his time with us," said Pasic. "He is an incredible teammate to our group and always did what was needed for the team to succeed. His selflessness is to be admired and anyone who knows Zakaria knows that his intentions are always pure."
RSC (9-7-2/3-6-2 E8) made its sixth appearance in the E8 Championship Tournament. The Gators lost at SUNY Brockport in the Quarterfinals on November 1.
