The lone goal of the Empire 8 Conference contest came in the 73rd minute, off the foot of Elmira co-captain Jhoan Chavez.
RSC, which got off to its best beginning to a season since joining the E8 in 2017, pushed aggressively for an equalizer. The Gators fired off four shots and garnered a pair of corner kicks during their pursuit.
Freshman goalkeeper Mateja Milutin (Vojvodina, Novi Sad, Serbia/The Kiski School) (4-2-1) made seven saves, six of which came after the intermission.
Elmira (4-1-3/2-0-1 E8), coming off a trip to the Finals of the 2024 E8 Championship Tournament, out-shot the Gators by a 21-11 margin.
RSC (5-2-1/1-1-1 E8) is on the road on Saturday at SUNY Geneseo.

Mepham) topped the E8 with five goals en route to 11 points, second on the circuit, while senior forward John Lewis Whalen (Arlington, VT/Arlington Memorial/Saint Rose) was third with 10 points...Whalen entered the contest with a Conference-leading six assists.
