Albany, NY— The Sage College's women's basketball team hosted the Panthers of Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences and posted a convincing 71-43 victory. With the win, Sage improves to 18-4 and ties the school record for most wins a season set last year. ACPHS drops to 14-4 on the year after the Gators took this year's "Battle of New Scotland Avenue."
Sage's sophomore forward Gen Schoff (Little Falls, NY/Little Falls) finished with 15 points and seven rebounds for the Gators and hit an impressive 9-12 from the floor as well. She continues to add to her active single-season free throws made mark with 116 free throws. The reigning Skyline Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week, Schoff now has 555 career points with 338 rebounds and 49 blocked shots.
Also for the Gators, junior guard Frankie Pearson (Hoosick Falls, NY/Hoosick Falls Central) collected 12 points and added five assists with four steals. She also tallied a three three-point field goals and now has 122 and is about to break the career three-point mark held by Sage's Carly Vallee (126, 2009-2013). Rookie guard Macie Holmes (Amsterdam, NY/Mekeel Christian Academy) tallied 12 points and buried three baskets from beyond the arch, while rookie guard Emily Parslow (Fonda, NY/Fonda-Fultonville) also had a pair of three-pointer and had eight points with five rebounds. Sophomore Teagan Clough (Cohoes, NY/Watervliet) added 10 rebounds off the bench with four points and two steals for the Gators as they held a commanding 45-36 edge on the boards.
ACPHS's senior Rochelle Whitton (Hermon, NY/Hermon-DeKalb) added nine points after making 5-6 from the line with three steals and two assists. Junior Rebecca Foote (Arcade, NY/Pioneer) had seven points and earned all seven points from the line after she made 7-of-8 shots and had six rebounds.
