Balanced attack lifts Sage women's squad past FSC for 12th straight win

Farmingdale, NY— The Sage College's women's basketball team travelled to Farmingdale State College for a Skyline Conference contest with the Rams on Saturday. The Gators racked up an impressive 74-51 win to earn the squad's 12th straight victory and help Sage remain unbeaten in the league. Sage improves to 13-2 overall and remains unbeaten in the league with a 9-0 record.  FSC drops to 5-10 overall and 4-4 in the league.

With Saturday's win, Sage's win streak has grown to 12 games and ties the program's all-time consecutive game win streak of 12 games set last season after Sage went unbeaten from Jan. 15, 2015 - February 19, 2015.

Sage led 43-20 at the break and was paced by the play of five players that finished with double-digit scoring performances. Rookie Macie Holmes (Amsterdam, NY/Mekeel Christian Academy) surpassed her career high of 18 points she scored on Tuesday night in Sage's overtime win over MSMC as she tallied 19 points against FSC. She made 6-of-8 shots from the floor, while hitting 5 of 7 three pointers with five assists.

Juniors Krystyn Knockwood (Troy, NY/Troy) and Frankie Pearson (Hoosick Falls, NY/Hoosick Falls) each finished with 14 points. Pearson added three baskets from beyond the arch, elevating her career resume to 109 three-pointers which is No. 2 all-time at Sage. Knockwood had a double-double with 14 points and 14 rebounds, while also tallying five blocks in the game. She moved into the No. 2 spot in the career blocks list with 68 as she moved ahead Kelly Murphy (65, 1999-2002).

Rookie Emily Parslow (Fonda, NY/Fonda-Fultonville) finished with 11 points and three assists, while sophomore forward Gen Schoff (Little Falls, NY/Little Falls) poured in 11 points with seven rebounds and a pair of blocks. Schoff, the team's leading scorer has tallied double-digits in 13 of the team's 15 games this season.

Sage returns to action on January 21 travelling to St. Joseph's College-Brooklyn for a 5:30 p.m. Skyline Conference contest.
