Gators drop action to Roadrunners in women's lacrosse play

Troy, NY ----Sage's women's lacrosse team hosted Ramapo College on Thursday afternoon in a Skyline Conference game held at RPI's Renwyck Field. The Roadrunners tallied the 18-3 victory to improve to 5-4 overall and 3-1 in the conference. The Gators fall to 0-4 overall and in the league.
Ramapo's junior Colleen Steel (Wyckoff, NJ/Ramapo) and senior Kristen Jakubik (Cranford, NJ/Cranford) each netted three goals for the Roadrunners as they jumped out to a 10-0 lead in the first half. Sage's junior Ginelle Butler (Malta, NY/Ballston Spa) put the Gators on the scoreboard with her first of two goals in the game at 0:40. She added a second goal in the second half as she leads Sage with her eight goals in the season and continues to elevate her career leading goals and total points marks to 24 and 28.
Ramapo's freshman Stephanie Kaplan (Keyport, NJ/Keyport) picked up the win in net as she made three saves with three goals allowed. Sage's junior goalie Courtney Reed (Mechanicville, NY/Mechanicville) made her first start of the season in net and recorded eight saves in the game. Reed continues to add to her career record as she now has 162 saves in her time in goal for the Gators.
Senior Jessica Byerwalters (Coeymans Hollow, NY/Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk) added a tally and now has two goals on the season for Sage.
