Gators compete at Hamilton Invitational
New Hartford, NY--The Sage College's men's golf team competed on Saturday at the Hamilton College Invitational at the Yahnundasis Golf Club, a challenging par-71 track. Playing conditions were quite difficult; golfers faced temperatures in the low 50's and rain for spurts during the round. Williams College fired a good team score of 307, which put them first of the waves that had completed play.
Sage posted a round of 338 for the day. Sage's leading player was junior Richie Christman (Johnstown, NY/Johnstown) who shot an 83. Sage's junior Zach Sullivan (Ballston Spa, NY/Ballston Lake) and senior Shane Kiselis (Amsterdam, NY/Amsterdam) each carded an 84.
Senior captain Ian Pingelski (Cohoes, NY/Cohoes) shot an 87, while rookie DJ Ioele (Johnstown, NY/Johnstown), posted a 95 on the day.
Sage finished the day in 10th place of the ten teams competing in the event as Williams College took home first place.
Christman picked up 30th, while Sullivan and Kiselis each finished in 32nd place. Pingelski picked up 42nd place, while Ioele took home 50th place.
