Sage golfers pick up 3rd place at Skyline Invitational
Farmingdale, NY--The Sage College's men's golf team competed on Friday at the Farmingdale Skyline Invitational on Friday afternoon at the Bethpage Red Course. The host Rams of Farmingdale State College captured the team title after shooting a round of 295 for the par 70, 6,555 yard course.
Sage picked up a third place finish after shooting a 314, just four strokes out of second place that was captured by St. Joseph's (LI) that shot a 310. Rounding out the team standings was SUNY-Old Westbury with a 431 for the day.
Farmingdale's Adam Larkin was the medalist after firing a 73 on the afternoon despite the rainy and windy conditions. The Gator top finisher in a tie for fourth place was junior Richie Christman (Johnstown, NY/Johnstown) after shooting a 75 on the day. Sage's junior Zach Sullivan (Ballston Spa, NY/Ballston Lake) carded a 78 and picked up eighth place.
Junior Gerard Beaudin (Delmar, NY/Home Schooled) tied for 11th place with a round of 80, while rookie DJ Ioele (Johnstown, NY/Johnstown), placed 13th with an 81. Senior captain Ian Pingelski (Cohoes, NY/Cohoes) shot an 83 and was next in 14th place.
Sage returns to action on Saturday, September 29 hosting the Sage Fall Invitational at Sycamore Country Club (Ravena, NY). The event commences with a 12:30 p.m. shotgun start.
