Golfers finish in 6th at Purchase Invitational
Purchase, NY ---- The Sage Colleges men's golf team competed at the Purchase College Fall Invitational at Old Oaks Country Club on Tuesday. The course is 6,503 yards and a par 70 course. Division I Manhattan College would win the team title after posting a round of 326 for the afternoon. Sage would settle for a sixth place finish in a field of nine teams. Centenary College had the medalist with a 78 as John Nanos was victorious.

Sage's rookies Zach Meade (Tupper Lake, NY/Tupper Lake) and junior Nick Osowicki (Amsterdam, Amsterdam) each had rounds of 88 for the afternoon. Freshman Rich Christman (Johnstown, NY/Johnstown) shot a 92, while sophomore Ian Pingelski (Cohoes, NY/Cohoes) shot a 94 and junior Shane McGowan (Schenectady, NY/Amsterdam) shot a 98 for the Gators. Rookie Dan Schulz (Broadalbin, NY/Broadalbin Perth) competed as a sixth man and shot a 95 in his first match.
Sage returns to action on September 24 when they will compete at the Farmingdale State Invitational at Beth Page Red with a noon shotgun start.
