ALBANY, N.Y. – Russell Sage College Women's Soccer hosted Mount Saint Mary's College on Wednesday night, playing to a scoreless draw with the Knights.
Sophomore forward Anna Shepard (Castleton-on-Hudson, NY/Columbia/Wagner) paced the RSC attack with a trio of shots-on-goal.
Freshman goalkeeper Isabella Clute (Schenectady, NY/Mohonasen) and junior goalkeeper Olivia Horan (Mechanicville, NY/Mechanicville) combined to stop six MSMC shots.
RSC (3-6-1/1-3 E8) returns to the pitch on Saturday as they travel to Rochester for a conference battle against St. John Fisher.
Gator Bites with Papa John's: The Gators are coming off of their third-straight appearance in the Empire 8 Conference Championship Tournament…RSC, the 2020-21 E8 champs, has 16 players back from last year's squad…Junior goalkeeper Olivia Horan (Mechanicville, NY/Mechanicville), senior midfielder Jaclyn Benedetti (Cohoes, NY/Cohoes), and senior forward Gianna Viscusi (Duanesburg, NY/Schalmont) highlight the returning Gators…Horan commenced the autumn with a 0.95 career goals-against average, a program record, and sat third among RSC keepers with 11 career shutouts… Head Coach Garrett Cobb, now in his tenth season at the helm of the Gators, added 12 newcomers to the program.
