ALBANY, N.Y. – Russell Sage College was upended 17-5 by visiting Manhattanville this afternoon.
Junior attacker Samantha Shafer (Schenectady, NY/Schenectady) led the Gators with two goals on five shots. Sophomore attacker Alexandra Queeney (Johnstown, NY/Johnstown), sophomore attacker Grace Hines (Schenectady, NY/Guilderland) and junior midfielder Kyla Kruger (Saugerties, NY/Kingston) also scored for RSC.
Trailing 2-0 midway through the opening period, Hines and Kruger scored 3:05 apart to help the Gators trail by one, 3-2, after the first 15 minutes. However, the visiting Valiants netted the next nine goals to seize control of the non-conference game.
Senior midfielder Lara Keenan and Kerry Carr topped Manhattanville (1-3) with four goals and one assist each.
Looking ahead, RSC (1-4) hosts MCLA on Saturday at 1:00 PM.
