Hankel Becomes RSC Men's Lacrosse Career Saves Leader
PITTSFORD, N.Y. – Sophomore goalkeeper Jordon Hankel (Cold Spring, NY/Haldane) moved into first place on the Russell Sage College Men's Lacrosse career saves list in Saturday's Empire 8 Conference matinee at No. 11 Saint John Fisher.

Hankel, who turned away 20 SJFU shots, finished the day with 330 stops. Michael Capitelli '22 made 326 saves between 2019 and 2022.
"Jordan breaking the program saves record in his fifth game of his sophomore season is a testament to all the hard work he has put in during his years of training, commented RSC Head Coach Erich Skelly. "Jordan is a very gifted ball stopper and the anchor of our defense. We are very proud of him and excited for the future of the program with him between the pipes."
The Cardinals (8-1/1-0 E8), ranked 11th in the latest USILA national poll, led 11-0 after the opening period on their way to a 29-2 home victory.
Sophomore midfielder Carson Pesce (Monroe, NY/Monroe-Woodbury) and freshman defender Aaron Alvarez (Asheville, NC/TC Roberston) netted the Gator goals. Alvarez, who also had an assist, tallied two ground balls and a caused turnover.
Senior defender Brady Dubay (Altamont, NY/CBA) topped all participants with four caused turnovers, to go along with three groundballs.
Looking ahead, RSC (2-3/0-2 E8) has its first home Conference contest of its spring on Saturday against SUNY Geneseo.
