Men's Tennis Records 7-2 Victory Beating GMC

Bennington, VT – The Sage Colleges' men's tennis team hosted the Eagles of Green Mountain College on Wednesday in a match that was moved indoors and held at Bennington Tennis Center. The Gators posted a 7-2 win to improve to 2-8, while Green Mountain drops to 7-4.

Sage's senior Kirsten Ackerman (Rensselaer, NY/Guilderland) picked up the win at No. 1 singles to improve to 4-1 this season on the men's team and teamed at No. 1 doubles with senior captain Gerard Beaudin (Delmar, NY/Home Schooled) for an 8-3 win.

Sage's rookie Troy Hansen (Nanuet, NY/Nanuet) posted 6-0, 6-2 win over Kyle Walz at No. 4 singles and improves to 4-6 this season. Senior Katie Schultz (Wynantskill, NY/Averill Park) picked up a win at No. 5 singles for Sage as she beat Eric Wade, 6-3, 6-0 and stands at 3-2 this spring. Hansen and Schultz were 8-4 winners at No. 2 doubles to aid in the Sage win.

Sage returns to action on April 23 hosting Hartwick College in a 4 p.m. match at Prospect Park and will honor their seniors in conjunction with Senior Day.
