Sage's Milkman tallies key win as Gators face Castleton

Putlney, VT----The Sage Colleges’ men’s tennis team faced Castleton State College on Wednesday in a non-conference match. Castleton tallied the 8-1 win to improve 4-1 on the year, while Sage drops to 0-2.

Sage’s junior captain Alex Milkman (Chester, VT/Green Mountain Union) added the Gators’ lone win as he was a victor at sixth singles after he beat freshman Josh Boucher (Fairfax, VT/BFA Fairfax), 6-3, 6-4. The victory is just the fourth win by a Gator since the program launched as a varsity program last season.

Milkman and sophomore Joshua Hewitt (Albany, NY/Green Hope) were almost winners as well at third doubles after dropping an 8-5 decision to Corey Kimball (Monkton, VT/Mt, Abraham Union) and freshman Adam Woodell (Cavendish, VT/Green Mountain Union).
