Whalen Finishes Second at the Bard Invitational

ANNADALE-on-HUDSON, N.Y. – Russell Sage College Cross Country was back in action at Saturday's Fred Pavlich Invitational, hosted by Bard College.
Freshman Christopher Whalen (Arlington, VT/Arlington Memorial) finished second out of 66 runners in the men's white 8k with a time of 29:06.5.
Senior Chris Pellegrini (Loudonville, NY/Colonie Central) was the second Gator to cross the line with a time of 34:03.4, good for 26th place.
The duo helped RSC finish sixth out of seven squads in the race.
Senior Charisma Losee (Troy, NY/Lansingburgh) was the highest RSC finisher in the women's white 6k with a time of 28:26.2. The clocking was good for 16th place.
Freshman Sydney Elmendorf (Walton, NY/Franklin Central) also crossed the line in the top-half of the 75 runner field, coming in 33rd at 31:10.4.
RSC ran incomplete on the women's side.Looking ahead, the Gators compete next on Saturday, October 11 at Westfield State.
Gator Bites with Papa John's: Whalen was chosen the Empire 8 Conference Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week for the period ending Sunday, September 7…The rookie won the ACPHS Orchard Opener on Saturday, September 6.
