Bio
At Sage:
Ryan Guyton brings an extensive career resume with him into his senior season. A two time Skyline Conference All-Star First Team pick, he is poised to continue his assault of the Gator record book in 2018 as Sage moves to the United Volleyball Conference.
He has been named a team tri-captain for the 2018 season.
This past fall, he also participated as a member of Sage’s men’s golf team.
As a junior, he picked up his second straight Skyline First-Team honor after averaging 3.45 kills/set. The two-year captain scored his 1,000th career point after averaging 4.04 points/set, 21st in the nation and 3rd in the conference. On defense, the outside hitter averaged 0.31 blocks/set and 1.39 digs/set with a .923 reception percentage. Guyton's 26 kills against Mount Saint Vincent were a school record and 21st in division III in five-set matches. Guyton also set the school record against Lehman in four-set points with 25.5. After breaking the Sage career aces record last year, the two-time Skyline Player of the Week ranks 2nd in aces/set (0.52), 3rd in hitting percentage (.265), 3rd in points (1,077.5), 4th in block solos (40), 4th in kills (844) 5th in kills/set (2.87), 5th in block assists (79), 5th in total blocks (119), 5th in points/set (3.66) and 7th in digs (931).
A team captain as a sophomore on the 2016 team, he led the team with his 468 points and 363 kills. He averaged 3.27 kills per set and had an impressive .292 attack percentage on the year. He also led the Gators with his 77 aces and had 41 total blocks to go with his 120 digs. Guyton was named to the Skyline First-Team after a 363 kill season. The sophomore had a .292 hitting percentage and averaged 3.27 kills per set. Guyton set the Sage career service aces record as a sophomore when he reached his 118th career ace in 2016. On defense, the outside hitter averaged 1.08 digs per set and .37 blocks per set. Guyton led the Gators in points per set with 4.2 average and selected the Skyline Player of the Week twice.
As a rookie, he was nationally ranked No. 18 in aces per set (0.47). Over the course of the 2015 season, he also earned acclaim as the Skyline Rookie of the Week once as well as the ECAC Corvais Division III South Rookie of the Week once. His freshman year included 153 kills with a .204 attack percentage, while also chipping in with 41 aces. He tallied 139 digs and had 49 total blocks in his 88 sets played, while adding 225.5 points along the way.
