ALBANY, N.Y. – Russell Sage College concluded its autumn by falling 2-0 to visiting Hartwick this afternoon at the ACP Athletic Complex.
Senior goalkeeper Tyler Brennan (Albany, NY/Shaker) (Loss, 3-6-4) made eight saves, while senior forward El Hadji Iba Sy (Bronx, NY/Emma Lazarus) topped the Gators with three shots taken.
Sophomore defender Daniel Kniffen opened the scoring in the Wednesday Empire 8 Conference matinee in the seventh minute. Senior midfielder Jim Mahony recorded the assist. Sophomore midfielder Tim McQueeney doubled the Hartwick (7-4-4/4-2-2 E8) lead in the 71st minute.
RSC (4-8-4/1-5-2 E8) was out-shot 16-9, including 10-1 for shots on goal, and took three corners compared to five for the visiting Hawks, the four seed in the upcoming E8 Championship Tournament, which begins on Saturday.
