Bio
A National Honor Society and Spanish Honor Society student at Hill Regional Career High School, William Ayala has brought a record of success with him to Sage. As a rookie, he played in 19 games with 7 starts. He added one goal on the season as well and helped Sage’s offense in 2012.
Last year’s Sage men’s soccer program was ranked nationally in several categories. They were No. 46 in both win percentage (.725) and team goals against average (0.84), while ranking No. 33 in saves percentage (.837). Offensively, Sage was ranked No. 51 in total goals (47) and No. 54 in total offense (2.35), while also ranking 62nd in total points (125) and No. 80 in total assists (31).
A Scholar-Leader Award winner and the Student-Athlete of the Month, while a senior, William helped his soccer team to an 11th place finish in the Class L section. As a senior, he earned all-conference honors as a team captain.
He is majoring in clinical biology at Sage and is the son of Flor Ortiz.
