Kettle Selected for USILA Team of the Week
LOUISVILLE – Russell Sage College sophomore attacker Nate Kettle (Killbuck, NY/Salamanca) was selected for the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association Division III Team of the Week for the period ending Sunday, April 7.
LOUISVILLE – Russell Sage College sophomore attacker Nate Kettle (Killbuck, NY/Salamanca) was selected for the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association Division III Team of the Week for the period ending Sunday, April 7.
Kettle totaled 18 points on nine goals and nine assists to help the Gators go 2-0. Kettle dished out six assists, tied for second-most in a single-game by an RSC player, in Saturday's Empire 8 Conference victory at Keuka. He was named the E8 Player of the Week for his efforts.
The sophomore currently leads the Conference with 54 points, 33 goals, and 21 assists. He is closing in on the program's single season records for points (58 - Hunter Brunelle, 2022) and goals (36 - Bailey Martin, 2022).
RSC (4-8/1-2 E8) hosts Utica on Saturday at noon. The E8 matinee will serve as the program's "Senior Day".
Gator Bites: The Gators returned 24 players to this year's edition…Attacker Bailey Martin (Syracuse, NY/Onondaga Central), a graduate student, and Kettle headline the group…Martin began the spring as the program career in points (139), goals (91), and assists (48)…Kettle, voted a co-captain as a sophomore, capped his rookie campaign with a second-team All-Empire 8 Conference honor… He was named the E8 Player of the Week for the periods ending March 17 and April 7 and began the week leading the Conference in points (54), goals (33), and assists (21)...Kettle is closing in on the program's single season records for points (58 - Hunter Brunelle, 2022) and goals (36 - Bailey Martin, 2022)...Junior defender Drew Rankin (Painted Post, NY/Corning Painted Post), junior midfielder Akili Richardson (Bronx, NY/Frederick Douglass Academy), Kettle, and senior midfielder Jake McElwee (Jackson, NJ/Jackson Liberty) were voted co-captains.
