Sage wraps first cross country campaign at NCAA Regionals

Oneonta, NY----Sage's men's cross country team was in action at the 2010 NCAA Division III Eastern Regional at Fortin Park on Saturday. SUNY-Geneseo won the men's team title with a score of 47, while St. Lawrence University finished in second with a score of 55 and third went to New York University with a score of 101. Sage finished in 39th place in the race that featured 39 teams vying for a berth to the NCAA Division III Championships next week.

Sage's freshman co-captain Bryan Kelly (Warwick, NY/Warwick Valley Central) was the team's top finisher for the 8 k course as he took 231th place with a time of 30:04.7. Kelly was Sage's top finisher at all seven races this fall.

Fellow co-captain Jason Applegate (Schenectady, NY/Mohanasen) finished in 245th place in 30:53.3.  

Next to finish for Sage was sophomore Mesfin Solomon (Albany, NY/Albany) as he took home 250th in 31:24.8, while senior John Dolny (Colonie, NY/Colonie Central) posted a 261st place finish in 38:55.5 Rookie Christopher Nerf (Latham, NY/Shaker) rounded out Sage's scorers with his time of 54:20.3 to take 264th place.
