Kelly leads Gators at Southern Vermont Meet
Bennington, VT----Sage's men's cross country team competed on Saturday at the Southern Vermont College Mountaineer Invitational. Sage finished in 10th place in the field of 14 men's teams. Lyndon State College captured the men's team title with a score of 46 as Sage tallied 326 on the day.
For the third straight time, Sage was led on the course by freshman co-captain Bryan Kelly (Warwick, NY/Warwick Valley Central) as he finished in 27th in 33:24. Fellow co-captain Jason Applegate (Schenectady, NY/Mohanasen) finished in 49th place in 35:59. Next to finish for Sage was sophomore Mesfin Solomon (Albany, NY/Albany) as he posted a time of 36:11 to take 55th. Senior John Dolny (Colonie, NY/Colonie Central) posted a 92nd place finish in 43:07, while freshman Christopher Nerf (Latham, NY/Shaker) rounded out Sage's scorers with his time of 52:29 to take 103rd place.
Sage will compete next week at the Mt. Saint Mary College Invitational on October 2 with the men's race commencing at 11:45 a.m.
