Purchase tops Sage in men's Skyline Conference action
Despite 19 points from Ryan Harris, Sage fell to Purchase in conference play on Thursday.
Purchase, NY---The Sage Colleges men's basketball team traveled to Purchase College on Thursday in Skyline Conference play. Purchase triumphed 86-73 to improve to 2-3 overall and 1-2 in the league, while Sage is now 2-4 overall and 1-1 in the conference.
Sage's junior guard Ryan Harris (Hudson Falls, NY/Glens Falls) led the team with 19 points on the night after also connecting for five three point baskets. Freshman guard Mervin Springer (Copiague, NY/Copiague) added 16 points for the Gators, while added 17 points with three steals.
Junior Garret Bishop's (Saratoga, NY/Saratoga Springs) also chipped in with 11 points.
Sage returns to action on Saturday, December 5 hosting Farmingdale State College in a 3 p.m. Skyline Conference game in the Kahl Center. The Sage Colleges Student-Athlete Advisory Council (SAAC) will be sponsoring a food drive in conjunction with the upcoming basketball games on December 5 and 9. Admission to all Sage contests is Free!
Sage's SAAC is asking fans to bring a non-perishable food item to the games that will in turn be donated to the Regional Food Bank of Northeastern New York. All fans that donate to the food drive, will be eligible for a Gator Fan Pack to be raffled at each contest.
Amongst the items in the "fanpack" are items donated by Sage's bookstores, The Bookstore in Albany.
