Bio

Cheyenne Young (Eagle River, Alaska) started as the Russell Sage College Athletic Operations and Business Manager in July 2025. Young, an assistant on the RSC women's volleyball coaching staff, added strength and conditioning to her responsibilities within the department in January 2026.

"We are excited to have Cheyenne Young join us as our new Athletics Operations and Budget Manager," said Jim Lyons, Director of Athletics at the time of her hiring.  "Her strong business background and experience at the Division III level will allow her to thrive and succeed in her new role.  I am thrilled to welcome her into our family, and look forward to working with her to ensure the success of our athletic programs at Russell Sage."

Young, a three-time All-NAC All-Star at Husson University, comes to Albany from Saint Lawrence University, where she was a graduate assistant for the women's volleyball team. 

"I'm very excited to have Cheyenne Young joining our staff at Russell Sage as our new assistant coach," commented Cummings, heading into her third season at the helm of the RSC Women's Volleyball program in 2025. "She's a former standout at Husson with three straight all-conference seasons and has already built an impressive coaching resume with NBC Camps and Maine Juniors. Cheyenne brings great energy, leadership, and a real passion for the game. She's been a team captain, a SAAC leader, and even demonstrated at the AVCA Convention for some of the top coaches in the country. Our players are going to benefit so much from her experience and mindset."

The native of Eagle River, Alaska graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science and a minor in Coaching from Husson University in May 2023. She recently completed a Master of Business Administration with a concentration in Athletic Administration online from Husson and is completed her Masters of Art in Leadership at St. Lawrence University in December 2025.
