Middletown, CT--Sage's women's track and fiel team took to the track on Saturday at the Wesleyan University Classic, a non-team scored meet.
For Sage's women's team, senior Helen Putriment (Troy, NY/Cobleskill-Richmondville) was finally able to compete after suffering from an early season injury. Back in the lineup, she took second in the 100 meter hurdles in 17.47, while adding a second in the shot put (9.72 meters), and a third in the high jump (1.52 meters).
In the 100 meter dash, sophomore Kelly DiBiaso (Bristol, CT/Saint Paul Catholic) was 8th in 15.94, while sophomore Sharmise Pratt (New York, NY/Urban Assembly for Careers in Sports) was next in ninth in 16.28. In the 200 meter dash, DiBiaso was 13th in 35.10, while Pratt took 14th in 35.82.
In the 400 meter hurdles, sophomore Sarah Montgomery (Gloversville, NY/Mayfield) picked up fifth in 1:38.15. In the 800 meter run, Sage's sophomore Lauren Belfast (Ilion, NY/Ilion) took 11th in 2:55.84, while junior Ellyn Fisher (Queensbury, NY/Queensbury) took home 12th in 3:00.22.
In the 1,500 meter run, Fisher was sixth in 5:59.41, while Belfast was seventh in 6:00.90.
In the long jump, sophomore Krystal Lambert (Brooklyn, NY/John Dewey) picked up eighth with a performance of 4.19, while freshman Alyssa Tatro (Constable, NY/Franklin Academy) was next in ninth (4.10meters).
Also placing in the shot put for Sage were sophomore Allison Hill (Hyde Park, NY/FDR) and junior Leanna Egan (Schenectady, NY/Mohonasen). Hill took sixth place with a performance of 5.38 meters and Egan was next in seventh with her effort of 4.87 meters. Hill also took third in the discus throw with her toss of 15.92 meters. In the javelin, Tatro was 8th with a throw of 18.06 meters, while Hill took ninth (13.63 meters), and Montgomery picked up 10thh with her throw of 11.42 meters.
